Just need to get past my strange resistance . . . (in itself a lesson about this strange life I call mine).

Thank you, Pierre, for all of it.Melissa Holbrook Piersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15617752678155038816noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8333594380363882958.post-14335634620303121302010-03-22T06:21:51.092-07:002010-03-22T06:21:51.092-07:00baby, MOODY, yeah yeah,

Though I'm used to thinking of myself as weak, and fearful, I suspect maybe my stubbornness is more powerful than these two. And I don't want anything to win over me--but me. So I will indeed fight.

In the middle of crisis, or at least a flurry of activity and deadlines and craziness--which is what my life usually consists of, because I arrange it that way--I don't have time to be depressed. Only in times of calmness and repose do I feel that ogre breathing on my neck. I just now realized that that is my version of the "happy pill": self-imposed chaos.

Well, at least it works, most of the time.Melissa Holbrook Piersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15617752678155038816noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8333594380363882958.post-79273612100257531572010-03-20T13:14:10.448-07:002010-03-20T13:14:10.448-07:00Yeah, well, depression is insidious and vain. Mine would sit like a blackness on my shoulders, ignoring my pleas for compassion.

I am an example of better--much better--living through chemistry. Now when the blackness nears, I sneer at it. It hovers, but doesn't land. And that is true relief.

Without fighting it, it will ruin what we are.
Fight it.renhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17577465484305520103noreply@blogger.com
